Biography
Bonnie is an Agent at FinePrint Literary Mangement. She (the agent not the cartoon character!) is a former elementary school teacher who lives in Southern Illinois. She has a husband, three grown children, two bonus daughters, and three fur-babies who think they need to eat all the cat food. While she eagerly (and impatiently) awaits grandkids, she is lucky enough to have one granddog, Onix, and two grandkitties, Maki and Whiskey.Bonnie represents authors who cover all the age groups from picture books through adult, many of whom have their own furry overlords or small two-legged dictators commanding their households, too. When she is open to queries, here are a few of the things she looks for:GeneralAcross the board for all age groups, she wants to see underrepresented authors. (BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled, etc)She has very eclectic tastes and sometimes doesnÕt know what sheÕs looking for until she reads it.Adult/YALikes: She is dying for a good speculative psychological horror mystery! (Think a gender-bent/gay Sherlock Holmes, set in Middle Earth or outer space, with all the creepy feels of Silence of the Lambs!) Normalized queerness where it isn’t the focus of the plot or subplot. SheÕs a sucker for a good romantasy (HEA required). Issue-driven stories that address timeless social issues and the people who fight to change them, stories where the underdog wins, non-traditional characters who feel real (even if they are in outer space), accessible literary prose, the Oxford comma.Dislikes stories with violence against women/children/animals, erotica, misogyny, alpha males, and romances where the heroine dumps the main love interest for no reason and goes for the villain.Picture Books The story must be child-centered and give them all the agency. They have enough grownups telling them what to do in their real lives; in books, kids should get to be the heroes. Fiction or Nonfiction is okay, and if it rhymes, it must be absolutely PERFECT!Middle Grade Bonnie is SUPER selective! But she likes stories based on kid-focused issues with a touch (or more) of magic. She would love to see an aged-up version of the Junie B. Jones series with a nonbinary main character in a magical school setting. No animal stories, please, where they are the characters.

Biography
Leslie Varney is a literary agent with Prentis Literary. She says: “It was never my plan to learn to read. In fact, I resisted it with all my five-year-old might, which was fairly significant. My favorite times were when my dad would read to me and I was afraid that when I learned to read myself, those lovely times would end. But my dadÕs plan was different and his will was equal to mine. After many knock-down battles, and lots of Dick and Jane, I reluctantly learned.I grew up during the mid-70Õs on my familyÕs hippie farm, situated in a small middle-class town in the Hudson Valley. This would have made me unique in any case, but the fact that we had no television was downright bizarre. While all my friends were watching re-runs of the ÒBrady BunchÓ (again), I was re-reading ÒA Wizard of EarthseaÓ (again). Or ÒWatership Down,Ó ÒA Wrinkle in Time,Ó ÒThe Crystal Cave,Ó whatever was around. Luckily for me, there were always books around. And, since my dadÕs favorite books tended to the fantasy and science fiction genres, my house was a fantastic playground of interesting ideas and wonderful stories. I was known as the weird kid who always had a book with her. If you couldnÕt find me, I was probably hiding in Oz. Instead of doing my boring chores, I was Laura Ingalls Wilder, and her chores were exciting frontier adventures! There were no limits when it came to stories and there was always somewhere wonderful to visit.I am pleased as punch that now I get to help authors bring new worlds, new ideas, and new magic to the literary world. I will always love the oral story-telling tradition, but my appreciation for the written work knows no bounds and I love being a part of bringing that passion to new readers. It turns out that my dadÕs plan was better than mine after all.”

Biography
Madeline Wallace is a literary agent with Sanford J. Greenburger Associates. She is seeking literary and upmarket fiction, as well as select narrative nonfiction and memoir. She is committed to advocating for voices that have been underrepresented in publishing. In fiction, Madeline loves to lose herself in unputdownable stories with characters that transcend the page. More specifically, she would love to receive coming-of-age novels from adult perspectives, especially ones that turn tropes on their heads and offer engrossing, offbeat perspectives. She appreciates novels with distinct sociopolitical contexts, welcomes satire and surrealism as long as the overall work is grounded, and falls for anything with a biting sense of humor. She would love to see intergenerational or domestic sagas with crackling characters and vibrant prose. She also appreciates suspenseful, literary-leaning novels with smart twists. Ultimately, fiction needs to be multidimensional, progressive, and unique in the way it delivers its message. In the nonfiction space, she is hoping for books that explore pop culture, examining celebrity and fandom through a critical lens. She would also love to receive intimate narratives that interrogate institutions and systems, books that grapple with relationships between food and body image, and memoirs with family-centered narratives, particularly ones that excavate surprising histories. Madeline joined the Greenburger team after internships with Writers House and the Feminist Press. A Midwesterner at heart, she grew up in Indiana and graduated from Earlham College. She serves as the second assistant to Heide Lange and feels fortunate every day to work with HeideÕs esteemed clients.
