Biography
* Picture Book authors should not submit unless also illustrators. *
Sally Apokedak is a literary agent with the Apokedak Literary Agency. She is the founder of Apokedak Literary Agency.
She’s been studying, reviewing, and marketing children’s books, as well as giving writing instruction for over two decades As the manager of the Kidz Book Buzz blog tour she was privileged to work with best-selling and award-winning authors such as Jeanne DuPrau, Ingrid Law, and Shannon Hale.
Working under the direction of Les Stobbe, of the Leslie H. Stobbe Literary Agency, Sally picked up some of her own bestselling and award-winning authors, such as Hannah C. Hall, Joyce Magnin, and Taryn Souders.
When Les retired in 2018, Sally launched Apokedak Literary Agency. She hasn’t really sold any million-dollar books, but . . . who knows? You may be the client for whom she snags her first seven-figure deal. Wouldn’t that be fun!
Sally is mostly interested in middle grade and young adult books, but would also like to find a couple of author/illustrators. No matter what the age of your target market, high concepts, fresh ideas, interesting characters, and stellar voice are the things that will cause Sally to offer to represent you.
