Jan Miller
Biography
Jan Miller is a literary agent with Dupree Miller & Associates Literary Agency. Jan is the founder and CEO of DMA. She has the rare blend of irrepressible optimism, personal warmth, and shrewd entrepreneurial instincts. She doesn’t just find markets, she creates them. Her unwavering instincts have yielded thousands of international bestsellers across all categories of nonfiction and fiction. She cherishes working with creative people who make the world a better place, and, as she always hastens to add, “we are brokers of intellectual ideas.”
She is an activist for education and human rights which she considers her greatest life work. She and her husband, Jeff Rich, have sponsored dozens of educational scholarships and financed a library in South Africa for The Wilson Foundation. For more than a decade, they have raised millions of dollars for Best Buddies International which is dedicated to establishing a global volunteer movement creating opportunities for one-to-one friendships for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Jan currently serves on the board of SMU Tate Lecture Series, The World Affairs Council, The Dr. Phil Foundation and The Shriver Report.
