Christine Cohen
Biography
Christine Cohen is a literary agent with the Virginia Kidd Agency. She joined the Virginia Kidd Agency in 1998 and had the distinct pleasure of learning the business via taking dictation from her mentor, James Allen, and Virginia Kidd herself. The first professional phone call she handled was from “a lovely gentleman named Harlan Ellison.” She learned the trade handling works by Gene Wolfe, Ursula K. Le Guin, Anne McCaffrey, James Tiptree, Jr. and E.E. “Doc” Smith. These days she gets to work with the likes of Alan Dean Foster, John Varley, Rajnar Vajra, Karen Heuler, and Michael Libling. She enjoys nothing more than working with her authors, foreign/translation rights colleagues, and film contacts. When reading on a snowy day, or on the sunny deck in summertime at Arrowhead in Milford, PA, the agency’s home for the past 56 years, she has to remind herself that she is, indeed, “working.”
