Barbara Braun is a literary agent with Barbara Braun Associates. Barbara began her agency 16 years ago after a career as an author, journalist and museum curator (she has a BA in English Literature from Cornell and a Columbia PhD in art history). Her first big success as an agent was with Susan Vreeland’s “Girl in Hyacinth Blue.” Which has sold over a half a million copies, been translated into 20 languages, and was the first in a series of popular novels about the lives of great artists by this author. Barbara is particularly interested in fiction and nonfiction about women, but her roster includes authors of mysteries, thrillers and historical novels. She does not represent children’s books, science fiction or romance titles.
